Swift to java converter8/30/2023 ![]() It's worth noting that, like other transpilers for app development, Gryphon is best suited for translating platform-independent logic code. ![]() This depends on your application - how similar app's architecture is to its Android counterpart, how often your code uses Swift features unsupported by Gryphon, etc. ![]() Yes - but it will need some adaptations (though probably less than your average multiplatform framework). Can Gryphon help translate my existing iOS app? If you have any difficulties with Swift 5.2, please let us know. You can find out which Swift version your Gryphon binary uses by running gryphon -version.ĭue to some technical limitations, only Swift 5.3, 5.4 and 5.5 are being tested in the latest versions of Gryphon. ![]() It will use whatever Swift version was used to build it, so if you build the Gryphon binary using Swift 5.5 then that's the version it will assume all your Swift code is in. Gryphon currently supports Swift 5.2 to 5.5. What Swift versions can Gryphon translate? Some Swift features are just waiting to be implemented, while others can't be translated to Kotlin and may never be supported. It is currently capable of translating many of the main features one might expect - classes, structs, enums, closures, extensions, protocols, etc - enough that it currently translates around 97% of a version of its own codebase (the other 3% are platform-specific files). Gryphon's support for Swift features is constantly evolving. Can I translate anything written in Swift? Gryphon attempts to find a "reasonably understandable Kotlin" middle ground somewhere between "machine-code-like Kotlin" and "perfectly idiomatic Kotlin". This is done within some realistic constraints: the priority is that the translated code has to behave correctly, for instance. As a rule, if you understand the input Swift code, you should also be able to understand the translated Kotlin code - if you don't, feel free to file a bug report. One of Gryphon's main goals is to make sure translated code can be understood by human beings. Will I be able to understand the translated code? It's still possible technically to generate Kotlin code that doesn't compile - for instance, if you try to translate unsupported Swift features, or if there's a bug - but as a rule, you should be able to translate, compile and run supported code without the need for post-translation edits. Gryphon's output code is meant to behave just like the input code that created it. Can I compile and run the translated code or do I need to fix it first? It was especially designed to enable app developers to translate platform-independent parts of their iOS apps into code they can use in their Android apps. Gryphon is a command line application that can translate Swift code into Kotlin code. There are also more advanced guides on using collections, using translation comments, and using templates □ Frequently asked questions What is Gryphon? It covers the basic information needed to begin using Gryphon, whether you want to translate command line programs, translate a new iOS app to Android, or add Gryphon to an existing app. $ docker run -it -rm -privileged -v /absolute/path/to/current/directory/:/app/Gryphon gryphonĬheck out the Tutorial to get started. Use Homebrew to install Gryphon and its dependencies automatically: You can also check out the currently supported translations for the Swift standard library here. If that's the case, feel free to report a new issue on GitHub. However, users often find new bugs to be fixed. This means the main systems and ideas have already been implemented - for instance, it's been translating a complete version of its own codebase for a while now. Use special comments and templates to customize your Kotlin translation, and use any platform-specific features you want - even in translated source files. Translate your iOS code to Android, compile the Android app, and see Kotlin's errors and warnings in the Swift lines that originated them - all without leaving Xcode. Translated Kotlin files work the same as the Swift files they came from. Stop using Gryphon whenever you want - you'll still be able to read and understand your Kotlin code, even the computer-generated parts. It was created to enable mobile app developers to share parts of an iOS app's codebase with Android. Gryphon is a program that translates Swift code into Kotlin code. ![]() Gryphon is looking for new maintainers! ![]() ![]() I create chalkboards for myself on a small scale, just like I sew curtains, paint furniture, and try to learn the best way to do things to decorate my home. What you do is truly amazing and harder than any other type of art in my opinion, as you have to be precise and like you stated – have a very fluid hand, plus a sharp eye to work on such large scale projects while keeping everything in scale and the right perspective. Hi CJ – I wrote this post with no intention to devalue your art.I am in awe of your talent and others like you – who are true chalkboard artists. How To Draw Chalkboard Art Like an Artist When it dries it will look nice and bright again. When you add the wet colored chalk over existing dry white chalk it will appear that the white chalk has been ruined. Use colored chalk on the focus image or border. Use a dime store pencil sharpener to keep the tip of the chalk pointy. The imperfections can sometimes add to the charm of chalkboard art. Mine is off, but it still looks OK – not perfect – but fun and festive.ĭon’t aim for perfection. Some letters will be bigger and your centering will look off. ![]() This is the hardest part of chalkboard art – making free hand letters. Draw the center letter or space on your center point and then draw the other letters out from this center point to each side to complete your word. If using both lower case and capital letters, capital letters take up a bit more room, but this is a good rule of thumb to center lettering. The letter/spaces count would be: 14 – making the center point between the “B” and “I”. ![]() If I wanted “Happy Birthday” all on one line. For instance “Birthday” has 8 letters – an even amount– no spaces, so the center is between the “T” and the “H”. To find the center of a word or words for one line – count the number of letters and spaces between each word. One heavy print font, a script font, and one thin caps font. A good rule of thumb is to use no more than 3 fonts. Mix up font styles – Thick, 3-D, thin, serif, shadow, and script. I then filled the double lines in with dots of color. Make a border – I used a square at each corner and double lines. In my art it was the cake and copy – Happy Birthday. Make a sketch to determine placement of your images and words. Keep it simple at first – the more boards you create the better your drawings, centering, and lettering will become. You can also keep the board wet and draw on a wet board. At first, the chalk lines will look faded – not bright – be patient and let it dry – it will dry bright white or whatever color chalk you are using. As you work, keep dipping the chalk in water to keep it wet. Dip the chalk in water before drawing on the board. To season a chalkboard: Use a full piece of chalk and run it on its side over the entire surface of the chalkboard. Ghosting is when you draw on a chalkboard and after it is erased – you still see the images, but in black. If you are using a brand new chalkboard – season it first. Mac mini blender8/30/2023 ![]() but it got crashed by error "system out of memory - apple". I am only using blender and everything was working fine. I have set my MacBook so it can only use blender and so turned off Siri, screentime, only dark theme, no transparent theme, etc. and I am using blender 2.91 latest version. There's probably a bunch of other reasons why much work hasn't been done on the patch, and I personally don't know them as I'm not a developer. Quite a few of these dependencies/libraries seem to be "unofficial" making the developers skeptical to add them to the list. The second thing is that for the NEON patch to be implemented a few extra "dependencies/libraries" must be added to Blender. They're currently employed by Tangent Animations and has other priorities. The main developer working on the ARM project outside of Apple is "Stefan Werner". ![]() It looks like nothing has been done with that task for NEON support since july 29? Why are they not working on it? However, once the ARM version of Blender is available to the public ( either officially through a beta, or "unofficially" being built by yourself or others) Rosetta2 will not be needed. I believe you may need Rosetta2 to run Blender if you download it straight from the Blender website right now (I'm not 100% sure how Rosetta2 works so Blender may not even run with it). But in the mean time, if you get a M1 powered Mac, you can compile an ARM based version of Blender for it using the source code that's currently available. Examples of issues include issues saving video files, or using the Intel denoiser.Īs for when Blender will see an official release for Blender for the M1 powered Macs, I'm unsure, but it's probably not that far away. ![]() However performance may be slower than expected until the NEON optimizations are introduced and there may be a few bugs and missing features here and there but they'll probably be fixed in the near future. Not much was actually needed to get it up and running as the M1 chip is an ARM based processor and Blender already compiles on ARM processors on Linux, the patches provided by Apple were primarily to provide some optimizations and to allow the compilation of Blender on both ARM and x86 on Mac OS in Xcode with one source code base. ![]() Sheep it A free render farm through distributed computingīlender Stack Exchange for technical help with Blenderīlend4Web to export your blend to the webīlender Discord for live chats with other Blender usersĬC0 textures and additional contents and services to support - €9.90 / monthĪ few months ago Apple actually provided patches to the Blender developers to speed up the development of Blender on Mac OS for chips like the M1. Git stash apply vs pop8/30/2023 ![]() ![]() To the right of the sidebar, under "Stashed changes", click Discard. To the right of the sidebar, under "Stashed changes", click Restore. In the left sidebar, in the "Changes" tab, click Stashed Changes. If you are not already on the branch where the changes are stashed, in the repository bar, click Current Branch, then click the branch with stashed changes. For more information, see " Managing branches in GitHub Desktop." Stashing changes If you use GitHub Desktop to switch branches while you have saved, but not committed, changes, GitHub Desktop will prompt you to stash the changes or bring them to the other branch. After you stash changes on a branch, you can safely change branches or make other changes to your current branch. If you use GitHub Desktop to stash changes, all unsaved changes will be stashed. You can only stash one set of changes at a time with GitHub Desktop. When you stash changes, the changes are temporarily removed from the files and you can choose to restore or discard the changes later. Then I needed to quickly produce a fix for something so I stashed my changes (git stash) edited file (vi file) committed (git commit) popped stash (git stash pop) This resulted in Conflict. If you have saved changes that you are not ready to commit yet, you can stash the changes for later. 24 I have a local git repository and had several modified files. I'll have to figure out what category they are in, that they had to be manually deleted. To apply your changes to your repository, you must save the files and then commit the changes to a branch. Interestingly, of my ~30, 4 files still remained after cleaning (buried in subdirectories). Ultimately, I used git clean -f -d -x to remove the ignored files. It is unfortunate that I couldn't figure out a way to start a merge session with them. So the pop failed, essentially saying it didn't want to restore my stashed ignored files on top of files that were still there. That is because the checkout of master only affected committed files - it didn't wipe the ignored files. When I checked out my branch and tried to pop, my ignored files were still there from before the stash save. Git status showed me tracked and untracked, but my activities didn't clean up the ignored files.ĭetails: I had used git stash save -a, checked out the master to compile and see original behavior, then tried to put it all back to continue editing. My similarly blocked pop operation was because leftover ignored files (see the. Even without changing working directories those options can sometimes create a stash you can't just apply back. PPS, You may need this technique after just using stash with -patch and/or -include-untracked. Sometimes needed even when you haven't made working directory changes Keep in mind that branches and tags are really just references to commits, so in many ways stashes, branches, and tags are just different ways of pointing at a commit (and its history). ![]() When you apply/pop you are doing something similar to cherry-picking it into your current branch. PS, It is tempting to think of a stash as a patch (just like it is tempting to think of a commit as a patch), but a stash is actually a commit against the HEAD when it was created. git symbolic-ref HEAD refs/heads/ORIGINALBRANCHīackground Stashes are commits likes branches/tags (not patches) The end result will be your additional stash changes in your working copy. It will switch back to your original branch and index without changing your working copy. If you just stashed while keeping some staged changes, then committed, and all you want to do is get the additional changes that where not staged when you stashed you can do the following. Option 2 - Reset original branch to match stash (limited changes since stash) If there are conflicts then handle them normally (one of the advantages of this approach is you can see and resolve conflicts). Commit your changes in STASHBRANCH, rebase it on ORIGINALBRANCH, then switch to ORIGINALBRANCH and rebase/merge the STASHBRANCH changes over it. If you have done a lot of changes in your ORIGINALBRANCH, then you are probably best treating STASHBRANCH like any local branch. Option 1 - Rebase stash branch normally (lots of changes since stash) What you do next depends on the relationship between the stash and where your target branch (which I will call ORIGINALBRANCH) is now. The following creates a branch based on the HEAD when the stash was created and then applies the stash (it does not commit it). It works well because a stash really is a commit under the covers (see PS). This is actually a useful general technique for working with stashes even when you don't have the listed error. Once it is a branch you can work normally in git using the normal branch-related techniques/tools you know and love. The best way to do this is to convert the stash to a branch. ![]() But I personally prefer to stay "within git". As mentioned by you can manually delete the files it is complaining about, switch branches, and then manually add them back. ![]() |
